This guide was created adhering to Common Core standards and CASEL: Effective Social-Emotional Learning Programs. It was developed to be a fun and creative resource to teach FEELINGS & EMOTIONS to elementary school students. The activities and lessons are created for 5-8 year olds, but can easily be adapted for younger or older students.
This educators guide is absolutely amazing!! It is truly worth every penny and more! Every resource you could possibly need to pair with the books is in this guide from lessons to activities to printables and so much more. This has been a life saver when I didn’t have time to prep and plan. This has also been amazing to have age appropriate materials for primary grade students on big emotions and feelings. My students are not only obsessed with the books but beg for the activities in this guide everytime we read them during SEL, that is how much they love them. I could go on forever in this review about how amazing this is but honestly buy it and see for yourself. You will not regret it.
I love Diane Alber’s books so much for social emotional learning in my classroom. They lend themselves to SO many activities that you can do to connect to the text, but now there is a resource with activities right at your fingertips! I love how she gives the educator tips and tricks for teaching the concept of the book and then connects activities that are hands-on and engaging for children!
Diane Alber is our favorite author in Room 123 - and she just keeps coming out with more resources to connect to her books and it is so helpful as an educator AND mom of a kiddo with BIG feelings. I am grateful for her stories and the connection they make to SEL! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
This guide is amazing!! I love all the suggested activities. The guide is easy to follow, provides learning prompts and examples of some of the completed activities. It’s a great companion to the emotion books which are loved by both my children & students.
I am a huge fan of Diane’s work and as always, this did not disappoint!
